The pulp and paper industry use wood to produce pulp, paper, paperboard and other cellulose-based products. The production is essentially a two-step process in which a fibrous raw material is first converted into pulp, before being converted into paper. Making the pulp can be done either mechanically or chemically. The pulp is then bleached and further processed, depending on the output required.
For manufacturing in the pulp and paper industry, water is one of the main components and as a result there are many spraying applications and some specialist nozzles used by paper mills. Full cone and flat jet nozzles are often used within drum filters aligned to this process. Tecpro provides nozzles for all areas and applications. These include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning of pulp chests. Pulp screening and cleaning systems and nozzles are crucial for maximum efficiency at minimum operating and maintenance costs.
- Edge trimming. For a perfect edge trim, steady water jets must be used to avoid edge defects and waste. Our nozzles are designed for this purpose.
- Felt cleaning showers. Felt shower nozzles are used to apply the paper felt cleaner in papermaking press.
- Drying and blowing off. Generic air nozzles are designed for focusing compressed air jets to clear debris and dry product and surfaces.
- Humidification for moisture addition and static control. Spraying or humidifying paper before the roll. Humidification also controls static and reduces risk of explosions.
- Adhesive coating and laminating. Spray glue to affix multiple layers of paper to each other.
- Pollution and foam control. Sprays of foam-retarding chemicals or water can be used to break down the foam and prevent build up.
- Gas scrubbing. Scrubber nozzles remove contaminants from process gases by bringing the gas in contact with a liquid to wash it, neutralise and remove any pollutants from the gas stream.
