Gas cooling nozzles are used to create efficiencies in the power-generation industry for gas turbines at power plants, but also ensure that emissions fall within legislations. Tecpro’s spray nozzles have been used widely for desulphurization; a set of technologies used to remove sulphur dioxide from exhaust flue gases of fossil-fuel power plants, and from the emissions of other sulphur oxide emitting processes such as waste incineration, as well as gas scouring applications Most common uses within the Power Generation industry:
  • Flue gas desulphurization. The expulsion of contaminations from exhaust gases is a typical application in any energy source power station. The practice is to spray a liquid into the gas flow that will respond with the gas shaping a compound that then falls under gravity thus eliminating the poison. The nozzles used in such applications will need to produce a relatively fine spray over a large area and one that doesn’t get swept away quickly by the flue gases.
  • Fire protection: Any power station has a large number of fire perils situated in close proximity to costly resources. Nozzles for this area can keep unstable materials cool, provide water shields to allow workers time, keep flammable material wet and shield equipment or structures from fire harm
  • Gas scrubbing. The spraying of reagents into a gas to remove contaminants, or to change the make-up of the gas, is common due to struct emissions regulations, but also to extend the life of equipment. It removes pollutants and sulphur emissions from coal and lessen the formation of acid rain. Different designs of scrubber will require different types of nozzles to operate effectively.
