Certified Water Filter Nozzles – When it comes to drinking water, the filter nozzles you use, and their associated component parts, should be certified for safety. Some manufacturers have achieved certification for the raw materials they use, and while this is a reassuring first step, it doesn’t provide full protection.

The problem lies in the transformation of polymer grain to the finished component – a process that takes place at high temperatures. If this process is not well controlled, it can cause the formation of toxic monomers which can be released into the water being filtered. There is also the risk of contaminants being introduced during the production process.

Without proper checks and monitoring, uncertified drinking water nozzles could be harmful to your health or the health of your customers.

Therefore, all components in direct contact with water intended for human consumption must be tested and certified to ensure they are not able to modify the organoleptic, physico-chemical and microbiological characteristics of drinking water.

WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) is a UK certification for drinking water devices to prevent the waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination or erroneous measurement of water. To be certified, products must undergo two types of testing – material safety testing and mechanical testing to ensure product integrity.

For over 50 years, the Italian company ILMAP has been leading the way in the production of water nozzles and other products. Their entire range of Water Filter Nozzles and accessories has now achieved WRAS (UK) certification. Their filter nozzles also hold the following certifications:

D.M. 174 (Italy)

ACS Health Certification (France)

NSF BS6920 (UK)

EU10/2011 (European Union)
