Situation:

Sunstate Truck Wash 2AConcrete dust during truck loading is a real issue for concrete plants around Australia. It is important for the environment that none of the dust leaves the concrete plants and so it is a requirement that transport vehicles are washed after loading.

Problem:

Sunstate cement produces over 1.5 million tonnes of cement each year from its Port of Brisbane plant. Their existing truck wash was ineffective at cleaning the cement dust off vehicles, resulting in a lot of cement dust leaving the site and covering the surrounding roads and environment.

Solution:

Tecpro determined that the truck wash was fitted with the incorrect type of nozzles as well as an inadequate pump and a sump which was filled with sludge build-up. Tecpro supplied some more suitable nozzles and made some recommendations for a new pump.

Results:

The refurbished truck wash operates so well that Sunstate cement submitted the upgrade to the 2014 Cement, concrete and aggregates environmental awards and won a highly commended award for environmental innovation.

Tecpro is skilled in designing, manufacturing and commissioning highly effective spraying systems for all types of industrial applications.
